I knew nothing of this place except that I had driven by one day and saw that here was ANOTHER English pub. I went in and found the owner, a genial chap named Richard. He gave me a wee bit of background and a menu and after a short chat I told him I would come back as I liked what I saw and I liked him. One night after theater I called to see if they were still serving food and he said that he would keep the kitchen open until I arrived. I thought this we a good signal for a service establishment. This pub is real, no doubt about Richard being British for sure, and it has a genuine family pub atmosphere from way back before the Tilted Kilt type places started popping up. The decor is part this and part that, like all real pubs in England with the exception of the dining room which they have redesigned with the hope that they can attract local artists. Who does that? Ever?? They have the correct items on the menu and were spot on with the Ploughman's Lunch at $14.95. (every item was imported and high quality) and the Shepard's Pie at the same price. The portions were very large and no way could we finish all of the food. I'm a retired investigator and nosey and full of questions but the help and the owners put up with me and even invited us to join with their after hours meal. I was chuffed to be sure. At a round table in the dining room I met the couple who tend bar and Richard's cook helper. It was very warm and clearly they are family and enjoying this business together. I'll be going back to have everything on their menu and I will report as honestly as I can. Well, a long time has passed since I wrote about Richard's pub and I've been in a few times to eat and drink his marvelous beer. I especially liked the club sandwich, red pepper soup (a beefy/cream/red sweet pepper concoction), Irish lamb stew with lots of body and flavor, the Ploughman's Lunch (which I could get addicted to), and his fish and chips. Richard has a wonderful website with vids and one is Richard doing his recipt for fish and chips. He has added an assortment of wings which friends say are really spot on. I wonder why one of the local news stations haven't done something with him. (Consider all the press done for that awful Le Tub mess on A1A.) I guess I'll keep wondering about the press in South Florida.

If I were to sum this place up in one word it would be incompetence. They have everything to be a great establishment but no motivation. They seriously need a reinvention! 1. No happy hour?? WTF ( who doesn't have that??) 2. Make needed repairs to that damn building?? (Rain pouring in the bar are through a faulty window is unacceptable!) 3. Re paint the exterior of the building!!( Haven't you heard of curb appeal??) 4. Serve uniquely British items for a reasonable price; duh!! 5. At there prices there should be AC!?? Give your customers a Damn good reason to come back!

I have been coming here several times a week for about 4 years. The banter with Richard is fun and the food is always great.

Cute and friendly place for beer and darts! I was here on Sunday night, Oscar night, and it was pretty dead. Had chips and gravy that were pretty tasty. Definitely going back to hang and play darts.

This place is pretty cool. Very dark at the bar with dark woods and such. It's a stand alone building, so there is plenty of parking which is a nice change from going to downtown bars. The fish and chips here is killer. All the menu items are cooked fresh. The fish isn't cheap talapia either. The owner is a real cool guy too. He's traveled all over the world and well versed in his beers and liquors.

Very friendly, great service and atmosphere! We were looking for something different tonight for dinner and decided to try Bad Boys. It was great! We had the garlic bread--a full loaf of buttery, garlicky, cheesy goodness--amazing. My husband had the shepherd's pie and I had the steak and mushroom pie. Both were fabulous--you could tell the time and care that went into making the food. I also had a Black Cherry Cider, which was also delicious. Our server and bartender was so friendly--she was funny, helpful and very attentive. We will certainly return!

My husband and I have driven past this place on our way to the beach a million times and we finally stopped in after reading good yelp reviews yesterday afternoon. We were greeted by Richard, the owner, and were told that we could sit anywhere we liked. (Laidback vibe ok ok). We walked into the open dining room with dark wood floors, modern black furniture and orange walls w/ several hand carved pieces like a gorgeous wooden tree base coffee table in the middle of a neat lounge area. Loved the feel - cool, eclectic and definitely chill. So we decided to order the Pate & Sausage appetizer, the Kings Head Fish & Chips (w/ green peas) and the Princess Diana Chicken Pie w/ Mushrooms. The Pate/sausage came out with some pickled onions, tomatoes, lettuce and perfectly toasted french bread. The pate itself was super mild and creamy and paired perfect w/ the pickled onions. We cleared our appetizer plate in less than 5 minutes flat and found out later from Richard that the pate was made from duck/chicken liver (yum to us!). Next came the main dishes and both were prepared to perfection. My husband's fish and chips were perfectly fried leaving the fish flaky & super moist. And then the peas, THE PEAS were the best peas I've ever had... so sweet and a light bite to them. My chicken pie had a heavenly, light and flaky crust baked right on top... I broke through with my fork and devoured the creamy, cognac kissed chicken and mushrooms. I can't say enough good things about this place, from the ambiance, food, and meeting Richard and his wife... two very cool people with a great vision. They told us about their plans to play iconic British movies on the big screen and a Benny Hill night - so AWESOME! COUNT US IN!!!

New tradition is being carved in stone. Like a lot of the reviewers posting I was someone who just drove by living down the street. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it will be my Saturday lunch spot for the rest of my life! Very good local microbrews, full bar. And the food is excellent! Who knew? English food is tasty. Richard and his wife Debbie run the place and they both are very good at what they do. Be careful cuz Richard has classic British wit. Ate the escargot and it was great. Going back for fish and chips!

Great English Pub!! It's a pretty large space, one side of the place has a full bar and on the other side is their dining room. You really can't see the bar from the dining area. There is also a large T.V with sofa's around it, plus a pretty large area for outdoor dining. This place sort of has an eclectic feel to the whole place which can be very comforting. Just to let you know that the service can be a bit slow if it gets really busy, but don't blame the waitress. She works really hard. When the waitress gets to you she is really fantastic, very efficient and takes your order right away. Since I always go with a great group, once we put or drink orders in and get our drinks we are good to go. Even if service can be a bit slow, it's really worth the wait because the food is always fantastic. I have had their fish and Chips (largest piece of fish), cottage pie (with cheese), soup specials, chicken wings, escargot with the pastry topping, and I can go on about the variety of food that I have eaten there. Their food is consistently amazing, every time I have eaten here and I always try to make it my goal to get here at least once or twice when I get to Florida.

Wow! What a fun and pleasant surprise. Havin' driven by here on numerous occasions the inspiration hit! After a blustery day at the beach, a nice sheltered bar seemed in order. Well, we were the first in the door and ponied up to the bar. The server was swift and quick witted, offering a great selection of brews and tasty bites. I can see this place being quite the spot on some rambunctious evening. I think I would love to come back for that (though I am a bit far). Soup was off the chain, with a bright crisp amount of curry and beef. Enough to warm any cold soul. My beer (don't remember the name) was a grapefruit brew that surprised me in it drinkabilty. Would definitely bring a keg of that one home. Finished with a sampler platter that was, well....perfect. Brews and Bites, just what we needed. Definitely coming back

BEST BRITISH FOOD IN FLORIDA... My new local.. Ordered the bangers and mash better than I expected .. Got a side of chips and curry sauce as well... Beautiful ... Staff are fantastic ... Love this place .. A must must ... If your missing the UK, this is the place for you

This is definitely a dive-y type place. I like coming here because its so close to my neighborhood so it is super convenient when I want a good beer and to chill out close to home. The bartenders are always on point and they play decent music. I am not the biggest fan of English food so I have only ever had the fish and chips and it is pretty good. The portions are huge and from what I can tell it is not a freeze and fry dish - it seems pretty fresh. If you are a fan of traditional English dishes, they seem to have it all! The inside is decorated cool with huge projector screens playing palladia, there are a few high top tables, a couch area and the bar area. I always gravitate to the bar area. Its a good place to grab a quick drink with friends!

Popped into this divey 'English' pub for a pre dinner drink. Bartender seemed friendly. I had a cider, hubby a jack and coke. There's probably better places to drink locally, although you could tell this place has its regular locals. Not much bar seating, it's a fairly small pub but the one whole side is a British themed restaurant. We didn't eat but the decor looked cool.

In case you're wondering where my profile picture was taken, it was here, not in London (darn!). Though it may be a very long time before I can head to England or experience British food, I only have to travel northbound about 30 minutes to get a local taste of it, by visiting King's Head in Dania Beach. From the outside, it looks rather small and somewhat divey-ish, despite the fact that I came during the day. There's a cool phone booth in the parking lot, which is where my profile picture was taken, a small garden with outdoor seating, and inside is the bar, as well as indoor seating (tables and chairs, away from the bar). The music playing was mostly classic rock, and I sat at the bar with my friend. The menu looked quite interesting, as did the locale with all its cute posters and other wall accoutrements. It was charming and laidback. The menu listed everything from curries (which I would love to try!), to cozy dishes like Shepherd's Pie, which my friend ordered, sandwiches, salads, and other platters. I ordered the Spinach Salad, which came with chunks of egg, English bacon, and a light balsamic glaze. I liked that they went easy on the dressing. Spinach is one of those vegetables that if doused in dressing can get wilted and flimsy and I was very happy to find my salad not drowning in it. They put the right amount of dressing so that the leaves were lightly moistened, and it was a thick dressing. The salad was a very generous portion and satisfying. The bartender, a new gal who was very friendly, said this was her favorite item. My friend, who has lived in England, also enjoyed his meal and said that it was pretty much like the pub grub he'd had over there so it gets the stamp of approval from him. I'm dying to see what the ambiance is like at night, on a weekend. I passed by about a week ago on a Friday night and regretted not stopping to see. It looks like it'd draw some interesting crowds. The bartender said they have live bands, everything from reggae to rock, so I think I'd dig it. My friend's not into bars, live bands or anything like that, so it looks like I will be flying solo next time I'm in the area and craving a live band. I love music, so it's hard to stay away, and this strikes me as a casual environment without snobs, all of which are my cup of tea (no pun intended)!

I have been going to this English restaurant and pub for years and it just keeps getting better! They seriously have best wings ever- not greasy at all and amazing garlic hot sauce- yum! And of course to I paired it with refreshing Pimms Cup #1. Love the bartender Soufei and owner Richard. You definitely need to check this place out and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, great food, drinks and service. 5 stars!

Stopped I last night for some good English Pub grub and didn't leave disappointed. I had the steak and mushroom pie, hubby has the bangers and mashed! Both dishes were delicious! Great choice of draft beers. Great neighborhood spot with good food at a reasonable price which I hard combination to find in south Florida.

My boyfriend an I were looking for some lunch and beer and ended up at this place thanks to yelp. The place looked funky outside. We walked in and it looked like an old bar with a seating area in a separate room that looked like someone house. We sat at the bar and ordered. We had the garlic bread which was sort of a loaf of bread and delicious! I wanted to order the steak and kidney pie, but the owner said he was unable to get fresh kidneys so I went with the Diana chicken pot pie. It was out of this world. A very large and delicious phyllo dough covered pie. I had a German wheat ale and later London pride which didn't disappoint. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and he really enjoyed them. After that meal we were full the rest of the day and absolutely fell in love with the place. It was so laid back, everyone at the bar made conversation with each other. The owner was behind the bar serving everyone and was very welcoming. He definitely has a good thing going. Oh he mentioned there is live music on Friday night. I would definitely recommend this place and I can't wait to go back!

Yes I know it's not a 5 star restaurant, however I'm giving it 5 stars for a Pub with a chef... Real cooking happens here from what I saw! (Baked Brie, bangers & mash, Kings Head fish & chips.... Food I saw all looked delish) I've been here 3 times and finally had the fish & chips .... They were amazing! Even the house made tartar sauce... And I HATE tartar sauce but this one was light-lemony and had fresh herbs so you can believe it was freshly made. I had the small portion.... See my photo as I thought the Kings Head portion was too large after seeing someone order it. It comes with fries and peas however they gave me salad vs peas :) The fish was flaky tender and pretty much melted in my mouth. I ate all of it. The bartenders are nice and the locals made me feel welcome! I wanted the wings.... They sold out. I'm going back for the wings. Interesting they are baked. They are about $1 each in orders of 12 & 24 if I recall. They have a beer called Purple Haze it's fruity and very refreshing. I also have had the Bloody Mary, it is seasoned with Old Bay which I love. Next time I will just ask for it a little spicier but the flavor was there :) Happy Girl finding this place on the way to the beach!

Dinner Feb 27 I LOVE this place. Took a friend born and raised just south of Manchester, England and he loved it too. He said it was the quintessential English Pub, not to be confused with a Irish Pub (I thought they were all the same). The food was as authentically English as possible, from the ingredients to the preparation, its true English food. My buddy got Chips and Curry and then got some buns and made a "Chip Butty" (that's a bun smothered in butter and then filled with Chips (Chips are English speak for French Fries). I had the chicken wings and they were very very good! The "plan" was to eat some appetizers and order some food...but unfortunately, a few pints derailed that plan. Can't wait to go back and get in a real meal before the pints start!

I'm really torn on this place. The food was excellent. However, there was only one person working the bar, the dining room and the outdoor tables. She was doing the best she could but unfortunately people were walking out. I know it must be hard to staff a small place and then get swamped on a Tuesday night, but I think this is the manager/owners fault. We won't be going back as it just isn't an experience I wish to go through again even though the food was great.

I'm always on the go and can barely take the time to stop and take the time to eat so next visit I will. At first the two different entrances were confusing but they both got tot her destination. It as a lovely entrance... Both were. I've been to England all but once and almost felt like I was there briefly. The menu to choose from was abundant and the ambiance was perfect for the wait. I had the chicken strips cuz I'm watching the food intake. And they were delicious. From the lemon to the damn sauce! It was BLOODY FANTASTIC! Recommend heavily.

My first experience here 4 out 5 stars. Doesn't transport me to Britain exactly but had a great laid back feel. The waitress was very tentative and friendly. I was craving light fresh cod fish and chips and I wasn't disappointed! Served very fresh and hot! The batter was very light and crispy and not greasy at all the cod tasted very fresh the fries were decent and seasoned well, the peas were delicious. Overall it was a great experience my boyfriend ordered a Mozzarella Burger he appreciated the creativity but didn't enjoy the flavor profile. If you go try the fish and chips I'll be back for more...

I eat here all the time! My favorites include the chicken wings, stilton burger, Kings Head fish and chips and tonight I had the Caesar salad. YUM! Also for fun, try the grapefruit beer.

We had the opportunity to go there the other day. As a lady, I completely appreciate the fact that the owner has 4-5 dozen fresh roses delivered every 3-5 days because, "...every lady deserves roses." What?! That's freakin awesome! The bartender was this really cool, chill chick who was willin' to chew some cud with us. And, the pub entrees were so delicious. Go for the pot pies. You wont be disappointed. The place is a little small and the main bar is this really cool, weathered, antique piece....It is a good place to escape the hot Florida sun and have some English fair!

We honestly wanted to love this place. Close to home, real Brit pub and food. But seriously, no. I ordered a Black & Tan and it tasted exactly like chewing tobacco. Like someone had been using the glass as a spittoon. Even the waitress smelled it and agreed. You would think that would trigger a manager to come over, or at least them to take the beer off the bill but they didn't! I had to make the waitress remove the dip spitty beer I only drank one disgusting sip of from our bill. The food was ok if you like super oily deep fried stuff. Finally, I drive by here every day and the same to-go container with rotting food has been sitting in the parking lot for 2 weeks. If I notice that from my car, how has no employee noticed it and cleaned it up???

This is by far my favorite hang out in South FL. I moved here from San Fran & this place reminds me of my favorite pubs out there. The bar always has great music playing, they serve amazing food, & the pub is this old wooden wrap around bar that I love. If you just want to relax & you're not in a rush, this place is perfect! I feel like the negative reviews are people that have this "expectation" of what a British pub should be like & not what it is. Laid back, good food, good company, good drinks. If you don't like it, head to South Beach or Las Olas, I'll keep the Kings Head!

On our way to the England game we were told to stop off at Bad Boys for a bite to eat so we did. I couldn't bring myself to order a fish and chips as I thought the price was a little rich but I'm used to Tampa Bay prices and I usually know what night each pub has their specials. The Bar area was cozy and if I was in just for a pint I would have been quite happy, plenty of tvs to watch the game but I don't think I would stay too long. If there was a 3 and a half star rating I would use it here, not bad and I would stop by if in the area again.

The Kings Head Pub (Dania) is a disappointment. It is neither enjoyable nor comfortable place to drink or eat. This IMHO is largely due to the staff. The Good Location is good. Food is average. Typical English Pub fare. Fish and Chips is mildly greasy but OK. The Bad Prices are high for regular pub fare. You can get better value in other Irish/English pubs. This place also served us warm flat beer. This may be the custom in Britian. But not in South Florida. And not during the summer heat. I mentioned this to our server. She gave me a sharp glare. If you're seated outside be aware that sand flies and mosquitoes will emerge at dusk especially during the summer. This pub is close to the mangroves. That may not be a problem for menfolk. But it irritates women. I spoke to the manager about this. He said " Whadda expect...were next to the mangroves" He could've offered to move us inside or light one of the outdoor fire pits. But no such courtesy was forthcoming. The women in our party were uncomfortable with bloodsucking insects, so we left and went half a mile away to an Irish pub called The Field Upon entering the Field the sweet refrains of the local live band, Celtic Bridge, wafted over us. We immediately forgot the abject misery of the Kings Head Pub. If you're looking for an Irish/English pub experience don't waste time and hard earned money at the Kings Head Pub. The management and staff do not care about their customers. Go to the Field instead. The Field = Heaven The Kings Head Pub = Hell We may all be sinners, but dont spend any more time in Hell than absolutely necessary.

This place is most widely known as Kings Head PUB - as the sign reads. I went there. There was a young African American guy named Sean as the bartender, he overcharged me and at least one other customer and when I left him a $1.50 on an outrageous $38.50 tab (4 beers) and it was supposed to only be 3 on the tab - he pretty much tried to throw me out, began using explicatives. Sean is stealing from the customers and the owners of the pub. Sean is a thief and he even went so far as to tell me I needed to get out of my seat so he could begin closing up the restaurant at 11:30 at night - the place is open til like 2AM or later. He was pissed I gave him such a small tip - but I wasn't going to tip a thief and a liar. Sean if you are reading this - You are a disgusting person. To the owner - I love your bar but I will never ever ever be back until you get rid of that terrible person $40 for 3 beers - ridiculous

I absolutely love the food here. I just don't like how the poor waitress is always the only one working when it gets busy. It's really hard on her. They need to have more than one waitress at a time.

Good English pub grub. Bar area like a British pub the outside is very Brits abroad but it has a London pub feel. Good food good ale and the wine is very good. Worth a visit if your here for a while. Friendly local feel.

I was excited to try this place! They are an English Pub in South Florida, they had a neon sign in the window lit up up, "Tetley's" one of my favorite English beers of all time. Guess what? They don't serve Tetley's, Strike ONE. Strike TWO: there were a few empty tables, we still had to wait to be seated, this evening, they were busy, and the service was slow. Strike Three: The fish and chips, they had two offerings on the menu, one cheap version the other a more expensive cod. I went with the pricey version of the cod, which was undercooked. For what this place is, it is way overpriced, They had burgers on the menu for over 12 bucks, really? Yes, really. The dining room was very much like an English Pub, so that was nice, they also have a nice outdoor seating area, that overlooks a parking a lot. I wouldn't rush back here. There are better places to go if you want to spend a lot of money on dinner.

  • Hector F.

Great place. Inviting. Good beer selection and loads of English dish favorites. It's a tad bit pricey, but I think you do get your money's worth. It's more of an outdoor restaurant. I mean there's an indoor dining room but it's a bit unappealing. Overall it's a great place for locals but I wouldn't go too far out of my way to come here.

The cod fish & chips & shepherd's pie are both superb! The tartar sauce was amazing with the fish & chips! Only thing I am confused by is the decor because its a mixture of the British Invasion & the tropics...also the floor was incredibly sticky & dust was visible. The food is superb though! If you put blinders over your peripheral to see the uncleanliness then you will enjoy the food wholeheartedly because it was terrific. I can tell this is the type of place that everyone knows each others names.

  • mercedes m.

I think of Cheers when I go here - the owners are down to earth and remember their customers - one of those neighborhood spots. They are updating the decor which is taking it out of the "hole in the wall" venue. Prices are reasonable and food is good. It is a pub...so don't think you are getting any fancy food - go here for wings/burger and a beer.

We just needed to kill some time after our cruise before our flight home. We stopped in for a bite to eat and found the food to be amazing. We had a beer battered fish sandwich, a burger, and jerk chicken sandwich. It might have been our bet meal of the vacation! If you're local, eat here more. If not, make sure to stop and grab a bite!

Wish I could give it more but I have to give it a four because of the food. I'm not English but I have been to many English and Irish pub and the food is not giving me the extra star I would like to give. But 5 star for Debbie my favourite bar maid :-) She is from Trinidad but she look like a pinay to me. She is very sweet, introduce me and monkey to other local drinkers and had many lovely chit chat. Also she makes the best margaritas in town for me ;-) plus we live just down the street away from here so now this has become our local English pub. Dunno when but they do have live band and also outside seating too, great for when it's hot for those that wants a beer and tan at the same time. So look for the Kings head pic on the side of their building and go no further, come in and have a pint ;-)

I would probably give it one more star, but the place itself needs some work. The carpet in the main dining area has been there a long time....and smells like it, too. I usally call in an order to go, because eating there would not be pleasant. They don't always answer the phone, so another reason the rating is not higher. The food is pretty good...that's what has me going back (for a take out order)

I come here often, I can get a proper pint of London's Pride and some tasty fare. The fish and chips is not spot on but tasty. No mushy peas on the menu but you can get delicious English Bacon with almost anything. Try it on a burger! We sit outside and find the inside a bit stuffy and dated. The outside is one of the nicest spots to sit at a picnic table at sunset and drink a beer without the servers bothering you every second or pushing more drinks on you. The only complaint we have is that the misters stay on at night after sundown and start to get annoying if the wind blows them into the tables. During the day the misters are a life saver. Service is always cheerful and accurate, beer is always good. Often the waitress is the bartender as well so be patient, its worth it.

This is a long overdue review from my first last and only visit back in 2004 when I first moved to Florida. The place was recommended to me by the crew and some of the locals on board the Sea Legs III.A couple of friends from NYC came down and since we all have a penchant for English Ales off we went. First we were in a great move and laughed our heads off watching the racoons come out of a garbage bin behind the restaurant. I swear it was like the clowns coming out of a small car! The 4 of us get seated and after about a half hour I start flagging down waitresses.Another 20 minutes goes by and after flagging down every waitress in the house I decide to get up and coral every waitress in the house. They all swear that the table we are sitting at is not their station! I am not letting them leave and finally one of the waitresses begrudgingly says she will serve us! We weren't overdressed loud or obnoxious, the food was actually OK , but I have never been back and never intend TO!

This place has a special place in my heart. This was the first place my husband and I ate when we moved to the South Florida area. With my Mom from England it was natural for me to find an English club when in a new area. It has now been eleven years and we still return to this pup. For me as usual the food is the focus, the ploughman's plate offers a selection cheeses, pickled onions, ham and a salad with a creamy garlic dressing, great for sharing. My ultimate favorite dish here is the steak and mushroom pie, rich and beefy with a light puffy pastry on top, this is all the goodness and comfort food that British food can offer. My husband and mother both recommend the fish and chips. The main dining room is heavy on wood accents making the environment very English feeling. We discovered last year that well behaved pets can sit on the outside patio while their owners eat and drink. English pub favorite beers are on tap. For those looking for a lime and lager or shandy this is a good spot to stop for a cold one after a day at the Dania Beach.

Haven't been here since 2004 but it was great back then. Used to live around the corner & come down here after work, sit on the benches outside & drink beer in the evening sun. Great crowd here.

I've eaten here several times, and was never disappointed. The beef and mushroom pot pie was awesome, chicken pot pie and fish and chips are great too. Has my seal of approval!

Great place to have a few good quality beers with a few friends or by yourself. Great Bar tenders, great flavorful food, and great non-domestic beer!

almost like being in the british isles! bangers and mash, fish and chips (two types) chicken pot pie and shepherd's pie among the delicious fare; always so hard to choose from the extensive menu, which also includes wonderful burgers aong other things; with a black and tan brew, the perfect staff a treat for dania Beach visitors.

Looking forward to the fish and chips but guess at 10:00om on a Saturday the cook was very tired. Would not order the fish and c hips again. Came out luke warm and with french fried not chips (english french fries). I did enjoy the tartar sauce. Very nice. Small bar and the patio looks over a busy street. wish I could give more than 3 stars

Not terrible, but I'd call it below average. After reading reviews of the fish and chips, I expected something great. I was very disappointed. I won't be back.

ive always wanted to try this place, it just looks cool. so i finally went with a friend who lives close by. parking was a little confusing because there are two sections to the parking lot. right in front of the restaurant or on the right side. we parked right in front but thats supposed to be motorcycle parking only.. but there were three other cars there and not a single bike (is this a bikers hang out?) ... anyways, walked into the bar, its a nice bar, dark wood, few beers on tap, boddingtongs caught my eye so i ordered two and a couple of menus, we sat outside. our waitress brought us menus and silverware and offered us to bring a towel cause apparently it had just been raining. that was nice of her but there was barely any water on the benches. then our beers got to the table and ordered fish and chips, my friend had the shepards pie and i had the bangers and mash. the food didnt take long to get to the table, maybe cause it was tuesday late afternoon. there were a few more people at the restaurant, most of them in their 50's, most of them eating not so much drinking. the fish and chips was good, nice and tender white fish but a little crispy on the outside. the fries were good too. the bangers and mash was very good. nice tasty gravy with onions. the sausages were very flavorful. i couldnt finish the whole thing, i was full. come to think of it, i only had a pint of boddingtons ... yeah, this is by far more of a restaurant than a pub. the check came up to 41$ without tip. would i come back? ONLY if im very close by.

Always eat here when visiting the Ft Laud area. Good beer selection of course. Also good traditional English pub food: bangers and mash, shepards pie, and some unique chicken dishes. Very small dining room however.

Wow. That's all I can say is WOW! The fish and chips here are better than anywhere I have ever eaten them. They are a bit pricy at $18.95 but worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY and they come with peas (I love peas) that are yummy. I don't eat fries but they are more than willing to give me something else to replace the fries and their Caesar Salad is very good as are their mixed vegetables which were a FRESH blend of broccoli, carrots and chayote squash (that I'd never had before) and even the veggies are good. A little under-steamed for my taste but still good. I have to find out who started this fad about serving raw, hard veggies and kill him. I'm old school, I like my veggies cooked--not to mush but when they fly off the plate when I try to fork them, it's unacceptable. The veggies here are ALMOST cooked, but the star of the plate is the fish--OMG the fish. They claim it's a 10 oz portion but if it is, I'll give you a dollar because it's MUCH bigger than that--closer to a POUND in my view and it's so fresh that I thought I might have to slap it. Seriously though, it was the BEST fish I've ever had in the fisn and chips category. A light, CRISP coating and cooked to just right--never dry and chewy with a homemade tartar sauce that is very good but can stay in the fridge because a few grains of salt are all this spectacular fish needs! Service is a little slow but I'd rather have that than a server coming by every 30 seconds. As a bonus, they make a great Bloody Mary. The place has all the charm of a mobile home but the bathrooms are spotless and the decor....unusual. Of course if they had comfy chairs, I'd be there all day eating fish and chips until my clothes exploded. Nice owners, a definite crowd of regulars and the best fish and chips going.

The best part of this place is that it was found while searching for a geocache that the owner called "that silly thing out there". Now while I'm not going to give away the location of this cache, my recent obsession with Dr. Who would have helped ;) The plates are big enough to share and they offer English favorites like Shepard's Pie, Scotch eggs & liver paté which I had to stop myself from eating all of it just to have leftovers. Well worth the trip if you live south of the border. Bring your camera because there's a very interesting painting on the ceiling in the main dinning room that is a must for all FB pages :)

This place makes the best fish and chips dinner EVER! They used to also make the best Lamb Shanks dinner EVER. It's a crying shame that they don't make them anymore. But the fish and chips makes it worth it anyway/.

So I think there's another King's Head somewhere in these parts, but they tell me the one on Dania Beach Blvd is the original. It looks small on the outside but they've got a pretty good sized dinning area and outdoor seating as well. There just aren't enough British bars in South Florida. King's Head did the trick for us as we stopped in during a vintage scooter rally. We had the whole place to ourselves, the jukebox had plenty of mod and Brit-pop tunes to keep us happy, the curry fries were spot on, and the ale on tap was cold and refreshing. Just what you need after a day of jostling about on the ol Vespa.

This place has Indoor and Outdoor seating. A bar area and Peculiar Dining room. I do like that they have a red telephone booth outside. Don't ask I just think it's cute. Every time I have gone here I leave feeling that it's just mediocre if that. One night I went late so several other couples were winding down their meal. Then some guy with his mother said to get the Fish and Chips "it is phenomenal". I was sooo excited since they seemed happier than pigs in sh*t- it must be yummy. The waitress took forever to get to us and after 2 beers waiting I became ravenous. So finally food comes.. BOO! Not phenomenal. Did I get a bad batch ?Was the cook tired? Greasy/Icky. I couldn't even eat much of it and that really means something -because I normally eat anything and everything. The waitress disappeared forever and I had to hunt her down ( I think she was on crack) then tried to push dessert -no thanks. I will just have a beer /the check and step out onto the patio. Still hungry I wound up going across the street and just getting pizza. I have been there a few times for drinks but as for food- I can't suggest anything to you. Other patrons seem to like the bangers and mash but I AM not going to even try. Maybe 2.5 stars.

Hmmmm, I like this place, even if it's a little overpriced. There are 3 components: the outside seating area, the inside bar and the dining room. I like the rustic, homey (almost run-down in a charming way) dining room. I like that the menu is authentic and any of the "pies" (kidney, steak and mushroom, shepard's) will not disappoint. My favorite is the duck breast medallions in cognac sauce. Delicious! I've also had their spinach salad with bacon and honey mustard dressing (pretty standard, but good) and their tortellini pasta (I think that's the type of pasta, not 100% sure) with tomato sauce, veal and peas. It's usually on special. One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday afternoon is sit In the bar area play darts, listen to the juke box and sip on some Black and Tans. They also serve food until late and have pretty decent bands playing at night. I always have fun at King's Head.
